I owned the BluRay for a year before finally having a player to watch it on. After hearing about it for so long, I finally watched Lifeforce (1985), director Tobe Hooper’s infamous flop for Cannon Pictures about nude space vampires plunging London into zombie apocalypse, a sci-fi throwback to Hammer Horror movies. This has quite a lot going for it, including a rousing theme by Henry Mancini, some snarly special effects including zombie puppets exploding into dust, and an appearance by early 1980s Patrick Stewart in a atypical supporting role (he plays the head of an asylum for the criminally insane). Peter Firth from Spooks plays the government agent in a turtle neck and Steve Railsback is the Yank astronaut in an obsessive romance with the deadly alien Mathilda May. This was very trashy, quite ridiculous and thoroughly entertaining.
