“Trash Classics is just a name – a different phrase for Cult Movies. We’re not out to ‘trash’ these movies. This is about highlighting films that either flamed out upon release, were either critically derided or commercially unsuccessful, or both, and are now re-evaluated as classic titles. Trash Classics is a night where we can honour these films, reviving the golden age of the VHS bargain bin and the first wave of DVDs, and bringing them onto the big screen for everyone to enjoy!
If you’re a life-time fan or a first time viewer, all are welcome! Some of these movies you could watch at home streaming – but it can’t compare to the delightful sound of an audience applauding and cheering in a cinema! When we use the word “Trash”, it comes from a place of love – these are great movies! And some of my all-time favourites! Trash Classics is all about celebrating the fact that when it comes to cinema, what someone sees as trash is another cinema-goer’s treasure.”
